About

MeloManics Remixed

MeloManics’ debut full length album “The Grey Light” was released in 2007, after they made quite a name for themselves in venues all over the Netherlands, as an exuberant live act. Mixing electronic beats and eighties synths with fierce guitar riffs and live drums. Boosted into new directions by their peers who contributed to the 2008 “Remixed” album, MeloManics took their live show to the next level, actually performing the remixes live on stage, hitting all major dutch venues and festivals.
From early 2009 on, Jeroen Joosten, Guido Schuurman and Hans Groen, who by then had replaced original drummer Ben Olgers, started working on new material for the second album. In the meantime three new songs were released as a promo only EP, “Spices”, accompanied by the video for the title track made by belgian artist Stan van Steendam. Towards the end of 2009 recordings for the album started and MeloManics joined the Greatest Rock and Rave Circus tour, alongside Joost van Bellen, Aux Raus and Boemklatsch!
Early 2010, founding member Jeroen Joosten decided to leave MeloManics. With the new album already in the mix, the two remaing members decided to finish the album as scheduled. The 11 track fruit of their labour was released in May, 2011. MeloManics would perform as a two piece from then on, hitting stages everywhere..as never before.
In november 2011, the Paranoid 12″ was released on beautifully pink vinyl. The remarkable artwork was created by MeloManics, together with Amsterdam based photographer Ringel Goslinga. It features his series of portraits, City People, entangled in a black and white maze where also a QR code with the mp3 download link is blended in.
Besides the original album version and two remixes of Paranoid, one new track, Some Disco is featured on the 12″.
MeloManics will be on the road again from december on, bringing their trademark rock ‘n tronics to the people..
